#GirlfriendGoals: How to Foster Closeness Among Women Through Tough Conversations with Jamie Trull

When it comes to money and business, my friend Jamie has it on lock - those gardens are blooming like crazy.

 

But when it comes to tough conversations, opening up and just generally dealing with those yucky things called emotions (particularly the ones that make us feel vulnerable), Jamie has thrown a tarp over that garden and hidden it under her bed, metaphorically speaking. 

 

In this episode, Jamie and I open up about a real life conversation we had when I wasn't feeling heard inside our friendship about something I was excited about. I debated not saying anything, but noticed that I was simply building resentment and that's something I know can be a death sentence to any relationship. 

 

I decided to speak up and what ensued was an hour-long back-and-forth on Marco Polo (video messaging app) discussing what I was feeling, where she was coming from, our enneagram numbers (3 and 7) and how we show up in different ways that may not always look like support to other people.

 

We're honest, raw and we share all the details of our conversation and what we were thinking throughout. Listen in to hear how it turned out and how, through a willingness to be vulnerable and have hard conversations, we can all deepen our friendships and trust in our female friends.
